About the role
Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer, Sustaining (2nd Shift) to drive manufacturing excellence by collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize robust processes. Responsibilities include achieving KPIs, leading change management, supporting quality control and ISO 9001 systems, and driving continuous improvement using Six Sigma methodologies to meet safety, delivery, cost, and quality objectives.
You Will:
- Monitor KPI metrics and scorecard to drive improvements in safety, productivity, quality, cost reduction, and inventory management.
- Design robust, high-volume manufacturing processes with strong safety standards, ergonomic conditions, fixtures, and work instruction sheets.
- Develop First Time Through (FTT) targets and quality control plans using SPC to support variability reduction and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Establish cross-functional networks with Engineering, Launch, and Advanced Manufacturing to evaluate and manage change impacts (PCR/ECR/DR).
- Serve as liaison between production and supporting areas regarding process changes, deviations, and production issues.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, DOE) and lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste.
- Lead Root Cause and Containment Analysis (RCCA) process to implement interim and permanent corrective actions for quality concerns.
- Maintain and verify Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Process (BOP) to ensure manufacturing processes run at current levels.
- Develop and implement PFMEA standards, conduct Ergo and Safety Risk Assessments, and ensure workstation readiness for new model programs.
- Identify and implement new tools, equipment, and processes while developing training programs for production associates and coordinating tooling/facility changes.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or STEM Degree.
- 5+ years of experience with automation equipment including robotics, end-of-arm tooling, pick-and-place systems, vision systems, dispensing, and material handling.
- 5+ years of experience designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling with proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, AutoCAD Inventor).
- Strong understanding of design-for-manufacturability (DFM) principles, BOM structuring, material selection, and manufacturing processes (machining, welding, additive manufacturing).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to interpret engineering drawings, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
