Team/Role Overview
The Securities & Derivatives Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. Based in our Budapest office, the overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions, while also leading and guiding a team to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The successful candidate will play a critical role in resolving complex issues, driving process improvements, and managing stakeholder relationships.
Key responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Development:
Manage workload, assign tasks, and ensure accountability.
Coordinate projects to align with department goals.
Coach, mentor, and cross-train staff.
Monitor capacity, facilitate cross-training, and support development.
Develop, implement, and track KPIs and SLAs.
2. Transaction Processing & Collateral Management:
Oversee client securities, FX, and derivatives transactions, including daily OTC Derivatives processing.
Manage daily/monthly collateral activities and payments.
Oversee collateral, transaction, and payment processing.
3. Risk, Control & Reconciliation:
Resolve external and internal reconciliation breaks.
Analyze and resolve complex securities processing issues.
Manage audit requests, follow-up, and monthly KPI/KRI reporting.
Assess risk in business decisions to safeguard Citigroup's reputation, clients, and assets.
Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, applying ethical judgment.
4. Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management:
Resolve complex process problems by evaluating securities processing and industry standards.
Implement trade process improvements.
Recommend and implement new systems/enhancements for securities processing manuals.
Conduct client discovery, assess service quality, and identify improvements.
Liaise with front and middle office for seamless operations
Qualifications::
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in securities processing, derivatives, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of securities processing procedures and industry standards.
- Strong understanding of collateral management, payments, and reconciliation activities.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and implement effective solutions.
