Data Governance will be the sole contact person between the data stewards and data management team in managing and overseeing the organization’s data assets to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. This role requires a strong analytical mindset to support data-driven decision-making processes within the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance frameworks and best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g. data stewards and IT Data team) to ensure compliance with data governance policies by Prudential group, local and regulatory. (i.e.: compliance to DMMIS framework and Data Governance Risk and Compliance)

  • Data Management: The sole contact point between the data stewards and the IT Data team in maintaining and managing data assets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all systems.

  • Data Quality: The sole contact point between the data stewards and the IT Data team on alignment on data quality standards, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits.

  • Data Analytics: With support from IT Data team, utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze and interpret complex data sets. Provide actionable insights to support business strategies and decision-making.

  • Data Integration: Oversee data integration processes from business and operation perspective. Report to ORM for any incidents.

  • Reporting: Generate and distribute regular reports on data quality, data usage, and analytics findings. Present insights to senior management and other stakeholders by organizing Data Governance Council in quarterly basis and other forum whenever require.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Group & local IT Governance & Data team, Data Owner and Data Stewards from business units and external partners to ensure data alignment and support business objectives.

  • Operation Data Steward: Support the Operation Data Owner in ensuring data quality management, data extraction and data related project.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.

  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or Master’s) is an advantage.

  • Professional certifications such as CDMP, CISA, CISM, COBIT, ITIL or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or information governance.

  • At least 3 to 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.

  • Prior experience in life insurance, takaful, banking, or financial services is strongly preferred.
