Who You Are: (Job Summary)
The Senior Director, Corporate Facilities is an enterprise leader responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction for corporate facilities, workplace strategy, space planning, real estate utilization, and facilities operations across QTS corporate locations. This role partners closely with executive and senior business leaders, Facilities Operations, Critical Projects, Finance, Legal, Procurement, People Services, and external partners to align workplace investments, occupancy planning, service delivery, vendor support, and operational standards with business priorities. The Senior Director leads through influence and direct people leadership, drives scalable processes and governance, and ensures corporate facilities programs are delivered with strong financial discipline, risk management, operational excellence, and a high-quality employee and visitor experience.
What You Will Do: (Job Responsibilities)
Enterprise Workplace & Space Strategy:
Set the multi-year strategy for corporate facilities, space planning, occupancy management, workplace experience, and real estate utilization across assigned corporate locations.
Translate growth plans, organizational changes, hybrid work expectations, and business priorities into practical space plans, allocation strategies, and workplace solutions.
Provide executive-level recommendations on facility utilization, capacity planning, location strategy, consolidations, expansions, relocations, refreshes, and future workplace investments.
Portfolio, Program & Project Leadership:
Oversee a portfolio of corporate facilities programs and space-related projects, including expansions, relocations, consolidations, renovations, workplace refreshes, and operational readiness activities.
Establish governance, milestones, risk mitigation plans, stakeholder routines, and escalation paths to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business expectations.
Partner with Facilities Operations, Critical Projects, IT, Security, Procurement, Finance, and business leaders to coordinate cross-functional execution and resolve complex delivery issues.
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery:
Own standards for day-to-day corporate facilities operations, including move management, site readiness, office services, FF&E coordination, supplies, internal standards, external requirements, and service-level expectations.
Drive consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement in facilities processes, workplace support models, and service delivery across locations.
Monitor performance issues, operational risks, employee experience themes, and compliance concerns; implement corrective actions and preventive controls where needed.
Financial Stewardship & Business Planning:
Lead annual and multi-year planning for corporate facilities budgets, capital needs, operating expenses, vendor spend, lease-related support, and workplace investments.
Use data, financial analysis, utilization metrics, and business cases to prioritize resources and support leadership decisions.
Partner with Finance and Procurement to review spend, evaluate cost savings opportunities, validate project ROI, and ensure responsible financial management.
Vendor, Partner & Contract Governance:
Lead vendor strategy, contract governance, performance management, and issue resolution for facilities, workplace services, maintenance, interiors, moves, FF&E, and related partners.
Negotiate and influence vendor scope, service levels, pricing, timelines, and accountability mechanisms in partnership with Procurement and Legal.
Ensure vendor and partner performance supports operational reliability, employee experience, risk management, and business continuity expectations.
Data, Reporting & Executive Communication:
Establish and maintain executive-ready reporting on space utilization, occupancy trends, project status, spend, risks, KPIs, service levels, and operational priorities.
Present clear recommendations, trade-offs, risks, and options to senior leadership to support timely decision-making.
Use workplace analytics, utilization data, employee feedback, and business trends to identify opportunities and guide continuous improvement.
People Leadership & Talent Development:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of facilities, interiors, workplace, and site support professionals, including leaders and/or senior managers as the organization scales.
Set clear goals, performance expectations, development plans, and accountability mechanisms to strengthen team capability and delivery consistency.
Model QTS values, build strong partnerships across functions, and foster a service-oriented, high-accountability team culture.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned in support of corporate facilities, workplace strategy, and business operations.
What You Will Need to Be Successful: (Required Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)
- Education: Typically, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, facilities management, or a related field; MBA or PMP certification is often preferred .
- Experience: 9+ years of progressive leadership experience in project management, space management, facilities, or real estate, preferably in a corporate or client-facing environment.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in office and project management software.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of real estate market trends, occupancy models, and best practices in space utilization Built In.

- MBA or advanced degree.
- Global real estate experience across North America and Europe.
- Experience in high‑growth or capital‑intensive environments.
