About the role

The division of Communications & Engagement advances the Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) mission, vision and values by creating community connection and information awareness. The Graphics Technician assists the Graphics team in the production of high-quality materials and publications that promote library resources, events, and daily operations.

This part-time position uses their expertise in design software and print production to produce final materials and distribute to various locations within our system. Position must comply with laws governing patron privacy and confidentiality under CRS24-90-119, and the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, as well as ADA governing public access to space and technology.

Work schedule consists of needing to be on-site at Lakewood Admin 5 days per week.

Description:

Hiring Range: $26.03 - $32.54 per hour.

  • PRODUCTION: Assists with the production of print collateral, signage, forms and other materials. Prepares computer files for output devices which includes laser and large-format printers. Prints, finishes and prepares materials for delivery to JCPL locations.
  • EQUIPMENT HANDLING: Operates and maintains laser printers, digital paper cutter, folders, inserters and variable data printers. Schedules or performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS: Maintains a system for tracking and updating internal library forms and publications. Tracks requests using graphics tracking systems. Prepares materials for distribution. Pulls data and builds graphic reports from InMotion system. Orders and maintains supplies for graphics unit. Researches and negotiates supplies and prices with vendors.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Software.

  • Knowledge in graphic design is needed.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in art or graphic design.

  • Prior experience with printing or print shop work.

  • Organized, deadline-focused, detail-oriented, crafty, ability to use project management programs (such as Lytho, Asana, Monday, etc).
