Job Description

Volunteer Engagement, part of the University of Virginia’s Office of Engagement, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support ongoing volunteer data collection and tracking efforts as well as the creation of an internal volunteer resource web page for External Relations staff. This is a hands-on role ideal for a student interested in gaining administrative, operational, and systems experience within a university setting. Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

Volunteer Data Collection and Integrity

  • Collect volunteer data from schools and units (Law, Career Services) and assist with mass uploads to the CRM.
  • Update FY27 board and committee members in the CRM
  • Propose and assist with the creation of new reports that will make access to accurate volunteer data more efficient.
  • Support other data projects as necessary.

Volunteer Resources Web Page

  • Collect and update information from schools and units on FY27 board and committee data to be posted to the website.
  • Propose, create, and organize an outline of materials and resources on volunteer engagement for External Relations staff.
  • Draft a timeline for how often and when information should be reviewed and updated throughout the year so that content remains current.
  • Perform additional administrative or logistical tasks as assigned by the UVA Clubs Project Associate or departmental staff.

Minimum Experience and Skills:

  • Some administrative support experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Interest in constituent communication and/or data management and reporting
  • Excellent time management and accountability skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience (or enthusiasm to learn) navigating database systems
  • Solid data management and reporting skills
  • Highly personable; ability to effectively communicate via email with internal and external constituents
  • Motivated problem solver, creative thinker, confident in sharing ideas and collaborating on solutions

Schedule: 2–3 days per week | 6–8 hours per day

Hourly Rate: $19.00
Proposed Start Date: June 2, 2025 (Earlier start date optional)

Location: Hybrid Position. Remote and in-person work at Old Ivy Hall, 2420 Old Ivy Road
