Role Summary
The Business Analytics Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role focused on the credit card and consumer banking sectors. The analyst applies strong analytical skills to solve key business challenges in areas like portfolio management, customer engagement, and profitability. Integrating a solid understanding of the banking and credit card industries, the role involves working independently to interpret complex data, make fact-based recommendations, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Performance Review: Utilizes hands-on expertise in SAS, SQL, or Python to gather and analyze operational data from various cross-functional stakeholders, examining and reporting on past business performance.
- Strategic Recommendations: Applies a strong understanding of the credit business to formulate and recommend data-driven actions for future developments, strategic business opportunities, and enhancements to operational policies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicates analytical findings, insights, and recommendations clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leadership.
- Process and Strategy Improvement: Works to continuously improve analytical processes and business strategies by exploring, evaluating, and leveraging new data sources, tools, and capabilities.
- Collaboration on Decision Strategies: Works closely with internal and external business partners to build, implement, track, and improve data-informed decision strategies.
- Risk and Control Management: Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This is achieved by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhering to Policy; applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior and business practices; and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience – preferably across Banking domain
- Mandatory hands-on experience with SAS, SQL, and/or Python for data analysis and manipulation.
- Strong understanding of the credit business (e.g., credit cards, personal loans), including key performance drivers and risk principles.
- Advanced process management skills with a highly organized and detail-oriented approach.
- Strong ability to generate insights, connect business concepts, and manage stakeholder relationships.
Education
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is preferred.
