Position Summary

The role is responsible for advancing CVS’s understanding of the reimbursement landscape through rigorous payer COGS analysis and proactive evaluation of market‑shaping policy and regulatory developments. This position will assist in competitive assessments of pharmacy cost‑of‑goods‑sold (COGS) across payers to identify trends, benchmarking insights, and strategic implications for CVS’s reimbursement position. In addition, the role will support analyzing the impact of proposed and emerging policy or regulatory changes, translating complex market signals into actionable insights that guide strategic decision‑making and ensure CVS remains prepared for future shifts in the pharmacy and healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous payer COGS analyses to assess competitive pharmacy reimbursement dynamics across the market
  • Develop competitive benchmarking insights by comparing CVS’s COGS position to other payers and pharmacy providers, and identifying key gaps
  • Identify trends and emerging patterns in payer-level COGS to surface competitive risks/opportunities and inform strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate proposed and emerging regulatory, legislative, and policy changes to determine impacts on reimbursement, pharmacy operations, and enterprise economics, translating findings into actionable recommendations
  • Partner cross-functionally (e.g., Strategy, Government Affairs, Finance) and deliver clear presentations/reporting that communicate scenarios, implications, and recommendations to leadership stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, finance, strategy, or consulting, with demonstrated critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding of how value is created in complex financial or commercial models, including the ability to identify key economic levers and trade-offs

  • Proven ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, driving work end-to-end and delivering results

  • Strong project management capabilities, including prioritization, stakeholder coordination, and meeting deadlines, plus clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience navigating relational databases, with working knowledge of SQL and/or Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, pharmacy, or the PBM landscape strongly preferred

  • Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, or advanced financial analytics

  • Experience building or enhancing complex deal, market, or scenario‑based models
