Job Overview
The Human Resources Officer performs a variety of activities in support of the Law Center's Department of Employment Services. Under direct supervision of the Director of Law Center Human Resources this position will serve as a subject matter expert and a primary HR Contact (HRC) for the Law Center. The incumbent will work closely with the Director to prioritize business operations and provide support to stakeholders through consistent, professional, and timely assistance in response to the community's needs. The incumbent provides clear communication, training, and pristine customer service while refining operations and focusing on challenges within the workforce.
As a primary Human Resource Contact (HRC) for Law Center, the HR Officer is responsible for all human resources related inquiries for the faculty, staff and student populations. The incumbent will determine and implement best practices for position evaluations, and will execute the full cycle HCM and Recruiting transaction activities within the Workday, Georgetown Management System (GMS). Other routine responsibilities will include processing new hires, transfers, promotions, costing allocations, payments and terminations. This position will also lead the administration of human capital management as it relates to student employment and Academic Fellowships.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Plan and execute the daily operations of the HR department.
Complete all staffing changes and HR deliverables including I-9 administration.
Assist with recruiting and onboarding new hires.
Provide training to stakeholders and new employees.
Work Interactions
Work interactions will include all Law Center Departments with consistent collaborations with the Dean’s Office, Faculty Affairs, Financial Affairs, Academic Affairs, Information Systems Technology (IST) and University Information Systems (UIS); University Human Resources, Office of Faculty and Staff Benefits, Payroll Services and HR partners throughout other Georgetown University campuses.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$65,000.00 - $82,500.00.
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and a minimum of three years of progressive human resource, or business administration experience (or combination of education and experience) required.
Demonstrated understanding and experience in human capital management operations.
Proficient in Microsoft programs; Gmail, calendar; and Zoom and Microsoft Teams applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in using Human Resource Information Systems.
Ability to analyze problems and offer timely, efficient solutions.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Experience presenting information in large forums to diverse populations.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Knowledge of human resources policies and labor laws.
Technical experience with Workday; and training or facilitation experience preferred.

Pay Range:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
