About the role
The work:
The Senior Cloud Engineer will serve as a technical expert supporting applications within the unit's mission. The engineer will lead the design, implementation, and management of hybrid IT environments leveraging AWS cloud services and onpremises Windows Server infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications hosted in AWS and on-premises Windows Server environments
- Provide O&M support, including patching, hardening, system upgrades, and routine maintenance
- Deliver infrastructure support during core and non-core hours as needed to meet mission requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Cloud Engineers, DBAs, and Security Engineers, to ensure system compliance, reliability, and security
- Support application development, deployment, and lifecycle activities in coordination with government and contractor teams
Here’s what you need:
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience and the ability to independently develop cloud optimization strategies and maximize AWS capabilities
- Strong expertise in AWS services (S3, EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch) and Windows Server administration
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, DevSecOps practices, and auto-scaling solutions
- Experience with full SDLC, Agile/Scrum/Kanban, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Strong analytical, technical, documentation, communication, and planning skills
- Ability to work independently, identify system improvements, and support team growth
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Washington, DC
Bonus points if you have:
- Bachelor's degree and experience working on or implementing a Cloud migration project
- Obtained relevant Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Cloud Practitioner

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
