QA/QC Engineer

FLSmidth Mongolia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer to join our Service Center team. As a global leader in providing sustainable productivity to the mining industry, we maintain the highest standards of engineering quality, safety, and reliability.

Operating as an integral member of the department, you will report directly to the Service Center Manager. In this role, you will oversee, execute, and improve our Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes. Your primary focus will be ensuring that all heavy mechanical repairs, component overhauls, spare parts manufacturing, steel structures, and rubber lining refurbishments performed at our facilities fully comply with FLSmidth global standards, international codes, and client requirements. This position is vital to maintaining our operational excellence and delivering world-class asset reliability.

Your responsibilities

* Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures and plans.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of materials, equipment, and construction activities to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and standards.
* Monitor and inspect welding processes, NDT activities, and material test results.
* Prepare and review QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test certificates, and non-conformance reports.
* Identify potential quality issues and propose corrective and preventive actions.
* Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related problems.
* Participate in root cause analysis for quality failures and implement lessons learned.
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FLSmidth's safety and environmental policies.
* Provide training and guidance to project personnel on QA/QC requirements.
 

What you bring

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mining Machinery, Industrial, or a related field).
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within the mining, heavy industry, or construction sectors.
* Strong knowledge of international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, ASTM, EN, ISO).
* Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification preferred.
* Experience with various inspection techniques, including NDT methods.
* Upper intermediate proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Must be a Mongolian citizen or a resident legally authorized to work in Mongolia

* Due to the physical demands of the role, male candidate is preferred; experience in manual lifting, grinding, and polishing
