To accelerate the delivery of our Strategy 2030, we are evolving the COO Function to further strengthen our focus on operational excellence. Operational Technology & Analytics (OT&A) team under the COO Function will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic goals, through simplifying how we work, strengthening our capabilities, and empowering our teams to deliver greater impact. For this purpose, we are reinforcing our focused, aligned and agile global team.
Operational Excellence is one of the fundamental pillars in APM Terminals strategy. This is our platform for current and new terminals, where all value streams are standard, scalable, and replicable from acquisition, to construction, integration and all the way down to running a terminal.
Implementing, optimizing and scaling Operations Technology & Analytics (OT&A) products and services will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic goals, ranging from initiatives like divergent brownfield technology packages at a fast pace to expanding and/or optimizing safety and productivity at our existing terminals. To be successful, our terminals need to be supported by a focused, aligned and agile global team that adds value by Subject Matter Expertise, standardization and high discipline.
The OT&A Portfolio Lead, acts as a focal point between Global OT&A and Business Implementation Management (BIM) functions, leads the OT&A scope of activities for high impact, complex terminal investment opportunities within APM Terminals existing and new terminals, and ensures cross-functional alignment within OT&A and across global, regional and local stakeholders.
Principal Accountabilities:
➢Leads the OT&A scope of activities for high impact, complex terminal investment opportunities within APM Terminals, including greenfield investments, brownfield expansions and terminal masterplans.
➢Acts as a focal point between Global OT&A, our terminals and BIM functions, integrating the engagement with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization at local, regional and global level.
➢Champions APM Terminals strategic approach to make Operations Technology & Analytics a strategic differentiator & competitive advantage in winning bids for new concessions, concession extensions and M&As as part of the APM Terminals vision
➢Structurally anchors OT&A into BIM framework from the start of the investment initiative idea
➢Contributes to continuously improving the governance framework of OT&A PMD (Portfolio Management & Delivery), applies best practices & lessons learned and provides project updates.
➢Collaborates extensively with OT&A Product Leads to ensure all scope and product definitions, enablers, requirements, assumptions, risks, timelines, and CAPEX/OPEX considerations are evaluated, captured and communicated to the project team on time and in full.
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
➢5-8 years industry expertise with hands on experience preferably from terminal operations, automation, technology, container shipping, engineering or manufacturing environment.
➢Strong technical understanding of terminal layouts, operational designs, equipment automation and digital automation systems.
➢Solid experience in project management in complex, wide portfolios and matrix organizations; PMP, APM or equivalent certification preferred.
➢Excellent stakeholder management and change management experience demonstrated in a real-time environment with exposure to cross functional stakeholders across different levels (internal / external, frontline / leadership level).
➢Advanced communication skills in English both written and verbal, additional languages are a plus.
➢High discipline – following through actions with constant care and ensuring necessary documentation and information flow with confidentiality.
➢Ability to prioritize with a focus on delivering results while balancing performance, quality, level of detail and resource availability with a sense of urgency.
➢Capable of motivating peers and influencing project stakeholders without reporting lines.
➢Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment.
➢Affinity and interest in Lean methodologies.
➢University degree in Engineering, Business, IT, Logistics or similar
➢Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for terminal on-site visits and workshops.
