The Probe Shift Equipment Technologist plays a critical hands-on role in enabling Parametric and Functional testing. They ensure reliable operation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement of Probe equipment. This role supports manufacturing excellence by maintaining equipment stability, resolving issues quickly, and driving data-driven improvements during shift operations.
In the role of Shift Technologist, you will work alongside engineers, production, and process partners to identify equipment issues, carry out root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions that safeguard yield, quality, and cycle time. You will contribute to smart manufacturing projects by bringing to bear data, automation, and emerging digital or AI-enabled technologies to improve equipment health monitoring and operational efficiency. Success in this position requires clear communication, technical ownership, and a strong safety outlook.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Deliver shift-based technical assistance for Probe equipment, including operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery to ensure stable manufacturing output.
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including BOM checks, consumable management, and SOP adherence to sustain equipment performance and reliability.
- Perform equipment data analysis and root-cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5-Why, 8D) to resolve recurring or complex equipment issues.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including equipment optimization, process stabilization, and implementation of best-known methods.
- Contribute to digital, automation, and AI-enabled solutions for equipment health detection, fault analysis, and performance optimization, in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Maintain close communication with production and process collaborators to ensure alignment on priorities, shift handovers, and quick resolution of equipment risks when critical issues arise.
- Promote and align with a Safe and Green working environment by following established safety procedures, participating in training, and supporting sustainability initiatives.
- Document technical findings, corrective actions, and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing and long-term equipment improvement.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in Probe manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on technical competence with semiconductor Probe equipment, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment recovery in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills using structured methodologies such as 5-Why, 8D, FMEA, or Lean manufacturing tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to support shift handovers, cross-functional collaboration, and addressing customer concerns.
- Willingness to work in a shift-based manufacturing environment and respond effectively to dynamic production demands.
- Interest in or basic understanding of automation, data analytics, or AI applications in semiconductor manufacturing is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Probe operations is beneficial.
