Description of Work

The Executive Assistant to the NC Department of Information Technology’s Chief Deputy and Service Delivery will serve as a critical backup to the Executive Leadership Associate for the State Chief Information Officer. This high level, confidential support role will interact with personnel at all levels of the agency, including executive and senior leadership, as well as the Governor’s Office and other external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include managing the Chief Deputy’s calendar, optimizing scheduling based on priorities, coordinating staff meetings, supporting special projects, overseeing meeting logistics, and planning and arranging travel.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Initiating and composing communication with a high level of detail and accuracy using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
• Utilizing business tools and software such as Adobe eSignature, DocuSign, eProcurement, ServiceNow, Qualtrics, and other survey and data analysis tools
• Coordinating and arranging conferences, speaking engagements, and meetings
• Composing minutes, letters/memos, reports, articles, and other confidential written materials

Salary Range: $50,088 - $87,654

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

  • Experience managing an operational budget for a business, agency, project and/or executive
  • Knowledge and experience with maintaining a calendar, travel arrangements, and organizing conference and/or speaking engagements
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders and customers

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or

Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
