The Role
Blue Owl is seeking a Associate to support our Institutional Capital team in Japan. This role will be primarily accountable for client service within the firm’s growing institutional client franchise. The ideal candidate is fluent in Japanese, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Directly support institutional client service efforts through product marketing and investment & operational due diligence processes.
Provide sales support with investor communication, opportunity tracking, and LP market mapping across multiple geographies and products.
Create and distribute relevant materials and thoughtfully curate responses to investor requests, due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), and requests for proposals (RFPs) across multiple products.
Proactively work with Product Specialists and subject matter experts across the firm to stay updated on new developments.
Communicate details around fund products and strategies, including investment-level information.
Assist in updating existing marketing collateral and ensuring content is approved by key stakeholders prior to distribution.
Support conference and event planning, management, and execution.
Maintain CRM systems to ensure investor information, opportunity details, historical dialogue, and upcoming tasks are tracked clearly and monitored continuously.
Coordinate closely with sales, marketing, product specialist, and management teams on all aspects of strategy and fund marketing.
Liaise with various internal teams, including accounting, operations, IT, compliance, ESG, and tax, to address investor needs and requests.
Engage with the team in New York headquarters for ongoing updates to the business and relevant product marketing materials and required processes.
Qualifications
3-6 years of professional experience in financial services, with backgrounds in asset management, private markets, or investment banking preferred.
Fluent in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
Ability to create commercial, high-impact content that resonates with institutional clients.
Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships across the firm, including senior management.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.
Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with similar and often quick turnaround timelines.
Detail-oriented and able to excel in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Team player with the ability to collaborate across the firm.
