Job Description

NAPA Chicago Distribution Center is excited to offer this unique NAPA vendor managed inventory opportunity in partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).

The Role:
The Supply Chain Project Manager is a data-driven professional responsible for supporting end-to-end inventory, procurement, and operational performance through analysis and system management. This role owns key
reporting processes, monitors inventory health and backorder performance, ensures data accuracy across supply chain systems, and delivers actionable insights that improve service levels, inventory efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and maintain supply chain data integrity across systems, including price synchronization, part availability updates, lead-time maintenance, and ERP data validation (e.g., JDE, Manhattan).
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance operational KPI reporting, including weekly dashboards and monthly management reports, translating data into actionable insights to improve fill rate, productivity, and service performance.
  • Analyze inventory performance and stock health, including stock-outs, obsolescence, discontinue items, inactive SKUs, and category-level inventory trends.
  • Monitor and manage backorder performance, including active backorder review, and follow-up analysis to improve product availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead cycle count reporting and inventory accuracy analysis, identifying root causes of discrepancies and partnering with operations to improve count integrity.
  • Generate and analyze sales and demand trends, including NAPA sales data, commodity index tracking, and category-level performance to support forecasting and replenishment decisions.
  • Serve as a data and reporting resource to cross-functional teams, supporting technical services, operations, and leadership with ad hoc analysis and continuous process improvement initiatives

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Automotive aftermarket experience or parts knowledge preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in supply chain, inventory analysis, procurement support, or operations analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis functions; experience building recurring KPI and management reports.
  • SQL knowledge a plus
  • Experience working within ERP systems (e.g., JDE or similar platforms) with demonstrated ability to manage pricing, lead times, part availability, and inventory data accurately.
  • Experience analyzing inventory performance metrics, including fill rate, stock-outs, obsolescence, and backorder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into actionable operational recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple recurring reporting deadlines (weekly and monthly) while responding to ad hoc data requests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with buyers, vendors, IT, and finance teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage urgent or time- sensitive requests.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry, system updates, and documentation management.

We offer a competitive starting salary of $68,000 for this position. Please note that total compensation may vary based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
