Job Description Summary:

Clinical Informatics Provider Educator is the liaison between the medical staff community and the information systems. The responsibilities include: First point of contact for IT provider support, provide one-on-one support services for physicians, assist with the creation and maintenance of PowerPlans and PowerNotes for the physicians, educating physicians on current systems, and assisting with implementing, upgrading and supporting application systems

Job Description:

  • Leads and supports physician education and training by delivering instruction on clinical technology processes and tools. Applies deep EHR expertise to evaluate workflows that impact organizational initiatives, operational efficiency, and the patient experience.
  •  Identifies opportunities to use technology to streamline and enhance clinical workflow. Provides guidance on EMR best practices to ensure optimal use of Clinical Information Systems.
  • Ensures physician workflow needs and perspectives are accurately represented in system configuration, design, and overall technical architecture.
  • Provides expert consultation to EHR teams on system optimization, change management, standardized processes, and workflows for a successful post implementation operation. This role requires an ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and projects.
  •  Collaborates with the CMIO and provider team to oversee PowerPlans and clinical documentation, ensuring accuracy, usability, and clinical alignment.
  • Communicates IT-related issues, questions, and concerns from technical staff back to the physician community, ensuring transparency and shared understanding.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of long-term strategic applications planning for the EHR for the area of responsibility to achieve strategic outcomes for the implementation.
  • Adheres to all Security Standards as set forth by the organization and National guidelines.
  • Collaborates closely with Clinical Leadership and other stakeholder teams to design, implement and support the goals and objectives of the organization set by the leadership.    
  • Applies clinical background and/or EHR expertise to support build, training, troubleshooting, and optimization of the EHR application assigned.
  • Ensure consistent use of clinical and revenue cycle information technology and the adoption of care team workflow changes enabled by Cerner.
  • Serves as a liaison between technical staff and business subject matter experts in creating and refining business requirements.
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with internal and external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivery
  • Perform testing and training on system changes, upgrades and enhanced functionality.
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, staff and the broader health care community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description:

Education:

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, especially in healthcare.
  • Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience with healthcare EMR implementation or support.  (required)
  • Cerner implementation and/or support experience. (preferred)
  • Prior successful experience working in a matrix management model.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Cerner and Dragon functionality is preferred.

Licensure:

  • Clinical Licensure (preferred)
