Job Description

The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, availability, and integrity across the supply chain. This role analyzes inventory data, investigates discrepancies, supports cycle count programs, and partners with operations to reduce shrink, improve inventory turns, and maintain optimal stock levels.

Coaches associate continuous improvement methodologies within the supply chain department, especially inwarehouse and internal logistic organization.

Manage inventory policies, minimize inventory holding.

Job Responsibilities:

  • He has complete understanding of Inventory Movements from receiving, through manufacturing and shipping, with the intent of becoming SAP and MES Super User for training, process improvements and troubleshooting.

  • Responsible for meeting Inventory Accuracy Goals. This includes management of the cycle counting process, root cause investigations, and establishing processes for preventative and corrective actions.

  • Works integrally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing/Planning, Supply Chain and other functional groups, ensuring SAP data accuracy.

  • Complete complex spreadsheet analysis during issue resolution or scenario planning.

  • Contribute supply plans for product phase-out such that obsolete raw inventory is minimized.

  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure accuracy across systems and physical stock

  • Conduct root-cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, adjustments, and variances

  • Support and oversee cycle count and physical inventory programs

  • Reconcile inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, returns, and write-offs

  • Identify trends related to shrink, obsolescence, damage, and overstocks

  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, procurement, planning, and finance teams

  • Develop and maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and KPIs

  • Recommend process improvements to strengthen inventory controls and accuracy

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company procedures

  • Assist with system implementations or enhancements related to inventory management (WMS / ERP)

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma (GED), college preferred

  • 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, warehouse operations, or analytics

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas)

  • Knowledge of cycle counting methodologies and inventory accuracy is the best practice

Manufacturing Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, warehouse operations, or analytics

Basic Knowledge and Skills:  

Process knowledge

  • Good understanding of the role of Finish good warehouse activities

  • Understand sourcing process

  • Strong communication skills across operations and leadership

  • Time management and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments

Analytical & reporting

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities to improve finish goods and raw materials & packaging planning activities.

  • Experience supporting audits and internal controls (SOX a plus)

Systems

  • Knowledge of finish goods management/reporting systems (SAP, etc.)

  • Strong Excel skills

People & communication skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Solution driven

Work Environmental

  • Combination of warehouse floor and office/desk-based work

  • May require occasional lifting, walking, or extended periods on warehouse floor

  • Fast-paced distribution environment with cross-functional interaction
