What is the opportunity?
Vice Presidents in RBC’s Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (“PU&I”) group play a critical role in the successful origination and execution of transactions for our clients. Vice Presidents work across all industries within the sector, including but not limited to:
- Energy Transition (wind and solar farms, battery storage, advanced nuclear and other emerging technologies)
- Utilities (regulated electric, gas and water utilities along with district energy)
- Infrastructure (toll roads, airports, seaports, parking, electric vehicle charging and technology-enabled infrastructure)
As a full service investment bank, RBC supports clients with a variety of products and services. PU&I partners with product specialists to deliver the firm’s complete capabilities, including:
- Mergers, Acquisitions and Strategic Advisory
- Equity Capital Markets
- Debt Capital Markets
- Leveraged Finance
- Project Finance
- Interest Rate, Currency and Commodity Hedging
What will you do?
- Execute a broad range of M&A advisory and financing transactions for both corporate and financial sponsor clients
- Develop financial models that forecast operating and financial results such as earnings, cash flow and credit metrics
- Create marketing materials to support transaction execution such as confidential information memorandums and teasers
- Through in-depth research, develop expertise in the industries we cover including awareness of trends, market participants and opportunities
- Partner with clients and third party consultants to perform due diligence on transactions
- Create pitch book materials for discussion with clients that illustrate our advice and capabilities
- Other duties, responsibilities and authorities as may be reasonably required
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Experience building financial models and analyzing financial statements
- Prior experience in investment banking
- Prior experience with mergers & acquisitions transactions
- Ability to conduct independent research on industry and company trends
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Nice to Have: prior experience in Power, Utilities & Infrastructure

The expected salary range for this particular position is $175,000 - $275,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
