We are searching for the best talent for Associate Scientist, Protein Characterization by Mass Spectrometry in Malvern, PA.

The Associate Scientist will work in the Characterization group within Analytical Development to develop, design and perform mass spectrometry assays in support of product characterization and process development activities.  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute intact/reduced/subunit LC/MS assays for characterizing mAb products
  • Perform metabolite analysis using targeted LC/MS methods
  • Perform method qualifications and write reports to support analytical development and manufacturing process development, process validations, manufacturing investigations, structure/function characterization, and IND/BLA filing.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and prepare written protocols and reports in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant manner.

Qualifications:
 

Education:

  • B.S./B.A. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Protein Formulations, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, performing progressively advanced duties or the equivalent training/experience

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with Mass Spectrometry
  • Experience working in a GLP/GMP environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
     

Preferred:

  • Experience with mass spectrometers and associated software from different vendors (Waters, Thermo, Sciex, Shimudzu)
  • Experience with 3rd party MS software (eg., Protein Matrix, Genedata Expressionist, etc.)
  • Experience with characterization of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs)
  • Experience and understanding of pharmaceutical development chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) processes and regulatory requirements for protein biologics
