Job Description:

Market Access Manager with solid experience in medical devices, health economics, and health technology assessment (HTA) in Brazil. Proven track record in developing and executing access and reimbursement strategies across the Brazilian healthcare system, including SUS, private payers, hospitals, and integrated delivery networks. Strong ability to translate clinical and economic evidence into compelling value propositions that reflect the specificities of medical devices, such as learning curves, incremental innovation, and dependence on care pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Market Access Strategy – Medical Devices

  • Develop and implement national market access strategies for medical devices in Brazil, considering both public (SUS) and private (health plans, hospitals, self-insured employers) markets.

  • Define access roadmaps across the product life cycle, aligned with regulatory status, clinical adoption, funding mechanisms, and evidence generation.

  • Adapt access strategies to the distinct characteristics of medical devices, including procedural dependence, service components, and rapid innovation cycles.

Health Technology Assessment (HTA) & Evidence Generation

  • Lead and coordinate HTA submissions and technical discussions related to medical devices, including interactions with CONITEC and support for private-sector assessments.

  • Ensure economic evaluations appropriately reflect device-specific methodologies, such as cost-minimization, budget impact driven by adoption curves, and pathway-based analyses.

  • Work closely with Medical Affairs and HEOR teams to generate local evidence, including real-world data and outcomes relevant to Brazilian clinical practice.

Reimbursement & Funding Environment

  • Contribute to strategies related to coverage, coding, and payment mechanisms for medical devices in the Brazilian context.

  • Support discussions with payers and providers on sustainable funding models, considering bundled payments, procedure-based reimbursement, and hospital economics.

  • Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory, policy, and reimbursement changes that may affect medical device adoption and incorporation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Institutional Affairs

  • Act as the primary interface with external stakeholders, including public health decision-makers, hospital managers, private payers, scientific societies, and industry associations.

  • Build strategic partnerships to support appropriate evaluation and adoption of medical devices based on clinical relevance and system value.

  • Represent the company in technical forums and access-related discussions, reinforcing credibility as a thought partner in HTA and innovation.

Value Communication & Internal Alignment

  • Develop clear and consistent value narratives tailored to different stakeholders (payers, hospitals, clinicians, policymakers).

  • Support internal teams (commercial, medical, leadership) with market access insights, training, and tools adapted to the Brazilian environment.

  • Ensure strong cross-functional alignment between Market Access, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Pricing, and Commercial teams.
