Data Analyst, Portfolio Analytics

Scopely is looking for a Senior/ Data Analyst to join our Strategic Analytics team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis!

The Strategic Analytics team supports the Scopely portfolio by providing insights, reporting, knowledge sharing, KPI frameworks, and scalable data products that leverage advanced analytics and AI to strengthen the long-term health of each game.

What You Will Do

As a Data Analyst in the Strategic Analytics team, you will play a central role in helping game teams across our portfolio drive long-term game health. You will leverage data to uncover player behavior insights, shape KPIs, and develop scalable reporting and knowledge-sharing tools. Your work will empower cross-functional stakeholders to make more informed decisions and align strategy across diverse game genres.

• Analyze large-scale, complex datasets representing the behavior of millions of online and mobile game players to address strategic and operational business questions
• Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business decisions
• Provide insights about the health of our portfolio, both within and across genres, to drive business decisions across all key functions
• Contribute to the development of jaw-dropping data products to more effectively surface the group’s findings
• Define KPI frameworks and lead advanced analytical deep-dives to uncover actionable insights, while building scalable data products that help game teams improve and optimize LTV and loyalty.
• Develop cross-portfolio analysis and reporting products that enable scalable, self-serve access to insights, drive strategic alignment across the company, and ensure data influences decisions at all levels
• Leverage AI tools and techniques to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive workflows, scale insight generation, and enhance decision-making across the portfolio
• Proactively identify opportunities to replace manual analysis with AI-driven or automated solutions, improving efficiency and depth of insights
• Partner with Data Science and Data Engineering teams to develop and integrate advanced analytics and AI solutions into scalable data products

What You Will Need

• Intellectual curiosity and analytical rigor, with a strong drive to leverage emerging technologies (including AI) to innovate and improve analytical workflows
• 3 or more years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably at a top-tier institution or firm in an analysis, scientific, research, or consulting role
• Strong presentation and Storytelling skills; ability to communicate complex results throughout an organization
• Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Working knowledge of SQL and comfort working in large data sets – exposure to BigQuery is a plus
• Working Knowledge of visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Qlikview
• Python experience for data analysis 
• Strong interest in leveraging AI as a co-pilot for analytics, with the ability to critically assess and validate AI-generated outputs
• Advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Spreadsheets
• B.S. (graduate degree a plus) from a top institution in a quantitative or scientific field (Math/Stats, Economics, CS, Engineering, Physics, or similar)
• A love or strong desire to work with mobile games

Bonus Points

• Prior experience working in the gaming industry is a plus, but not required
