About the role
Overview:
HKS is seeking a Summer Intern to join our Structural team.*If you will have graduated from an accredited program with a professional degree and are seeking full-time employment, please search our careers page for the Engineer In Training posting.
Responsibilities:
With close supervision, summer interns will work with professional engineers, engineers-in-training, and drafters on current projects
Structural Assignments may include:
Analysis and design of building structure components such as foundations, columns, beams and floor framing systems, lateral force resisting systems, etc. Will require learning several structural analysis software.
Use of Revit to coordinate with architecture and other disciplines and to produce construction documents
Construction administration tasks such as reviewing RFIs and submittals
Potential for construction site visits in the vicinity of the internship
Qualifications:
- Currently a college student working to obtain a professional degree from an accredited Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
- Entry level student intern on the path to Engineer-in-Training certification with little or no previous experience
- Working knowledge of Revit or other BIM drafting and presentation tools preferred Entry-level
