ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Manager of Business Development to identify, pursue, and close high-impact partnerships and revenue opportunities. You will own the full pipeline — from prospecting to negotiation — while working cross-functionally with product, marketing, and leadership to accelerate growth. This role sits at the intersection of sales, strategy, and AI-augmented execution, and is ideal for someone who uses AI as a genuine force multiplier to move faster, qualify smarter, and close more effectively than a traditional BD team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and execute a strategic outbound pipeline targeting new enterprise and mid-market accounts, leveraging AI tools to accelerate prospecting, research, and outreach at scale
  • Source, structure, and close partnerships that drive measurable revenue and expand brand reach
  • Lead discovery calls, presentations, and contract negotiations with senior stakeholders and C-suite decision makers
  • Use AI-native tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or equivalent) as core instruments for account research, competitive intelligence, proposal drafting, and pipeline prioritization
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to craft compelling, differentiated value propositions — using AI to iterate and personalize messaging rapidly
  • Manage and forecast a pipeline using CRM tools, reporting progress and insights to senior leadership
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, verticals, and strategic channels
  • Represent SecurityScorecard at industry events, conferences, and executive roundtables
  • Mentor junior BD team members and contribute to team processes, playbooks, and AI-augmented workflows

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or partnerships in a B2B environment
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or equivalent) as a daily practice — not an experiment — for research, outreach, summarization, and decision support
  • Strong negotiation skills and executive presence — comfortable driving conversations at the C-suite level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and pipeline analytics
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating with ambiguity in a high-growth environment
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, marketing, legal, and finance teams

AI CAPABILITIES

At SecurityScorecard, we expect our go-to-market team to use AI tools as a core part of how they work — not as an add-on. In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Use AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) daily for tasks including account research, drafting executive communications, summarizing call notes, and preparing negotiation briefs
  • Leverage AI-enriched prospecting tools to build and prioritize target account lists more efficiently
  • Apply AI to generate and iterate on outbound messaging, proposals, and partner pitch materials at high velocity
  • Contribute to the team’s shared AI playbook — documenting effective prompts, workflows, and tools that improve the BD motion for everyone
  • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities relevant to sales and partnerships, and proactively bring new tools and approaches to the team

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in cybersecurity, SaaS, or enterprise technology industries
  • Existing network of enterprise buyers, channel partners, or technology alliances
  • Background in GTM strategy, market expansion, or channel development
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC or similar enterprise sales methodologies
  • Experience building or optimizing AI-assisted sales workflows, including prompt engineering for outbound sequences, deal summaries, or competitive battlecards
  • Exposure to AI-powered sales tooling (e.g., Clay, Apollo, Amplemarket, 6sense, or similar platforms with AI enrichment capabilities)

The estimated total compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications and experience, and may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards and equity, among other company benefits.
