You’ll join ERM’s fast‑scaling Certification and Verification Services (CVS) team—a global leader in independent ESG, GHG, and sustainability assurance. Your work will directly strengthen the credibility of the sustainability information that organizations use to drive decisions, inform stakeholders, and shape their net‑zero strategies.

This is a chance to build meaningful skills, work with multinational clients, and contribute to work that has real‑world impact.

What Your Impact Is

As an ESG Assurance Associate / Senior Associate, you will help deliver independent assurance engagements for a wide portfolio of global clients. You will:

  • Support the assurance of ESG and greenhouse gas (GHG) information used in sustainability reporting, sustainability‑linked finance, product claims, and carbon market activities.
  • Conduct research, analytical data reviews, evidence checks, site visits, and disclosure assessments under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
  • Ensure project documentation meets independent assurance standards and ERM’s internal quality requirements.
  • Participate in discussions and visits with client teams, both at head offices and operational sites.
  • Play an essential role in upholding the credibility and trustworthiness of ESG information across diverse sectors.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • A degree in sustainability, environmental studies, engineering, business, audit, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience with exposure to ESG/GHG data, sustainability reporting, or assurance concepts.
  • Broad interest in sustainability and global societal challenges, with awareness of issues such as governance, climate change, supply chain impacts, human rights, and community relations.
  • Foundational knowledge of sustainability and GHG reporting frameworks (e.g., ASRS, GRI, GHG Protocol, ISSB, CDP, DJSI, TCFD, SDGs).
  • Strong analytical and data‑handling skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Clear and concise communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach, self‑motivation, and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Willingness to travel for client site visits as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience or familiarity with sustainability assurance and audit standards such as ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410, ISO 14064‑3, or PCAOB attestation frameworks.
  • Technical understanding of environmental impacts, emissions, climate change, or GHG quantification.
  • Prior involvement in client‑facing work or relationship‑building activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of ESG and GHG assurance engagements.
  • Perform assurance testing activities, including media research, data analysis, evidence collection, disclosure review, and site visit support.
  • Maintain well‑structured project files aligned with assurance standards and ERM’s internal systems.
  • Assist senior colleagues during client meetings, head office engagements, and facility‑level visits.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of assurance processes and team knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively across projects to help ensure high‑quality outputs and timely delivery.
