About the role
At JFrog, we’re reinventing DevOps to help the world’s greatest companies innovate -- and we want you along for the ride. This is a special place with a unique combination of brilliance, spirit, and just all-around great people. If you’re willing to do more, your career can take off. And since software plays a central role in everyone’s lives, you’ll be part of an important mission. Thousands of customers, including the majority of the Fortune 100, trust JFrog to manage, accelerate, and secure their software delivery from code to production -- a concept we call “liquid software.” Wouldn't it be amazing if you could join us on our journey?
JFrog Security is looking for a talented R&D Team Leader to lead our Runtime development team. As a vital part of our mission to deliver end-to-end security solutions, you will build capabilities that connect the software supply chain to a real-world production context—protecting software where it actually runs. If you thrive in dynamic environments, take ownership of features from end to end, and want to guide a talented team without losing your technical edge – this is the role for you
As an R&D Team Leader at JFrog Security, you will...
- Lead and mentor a high-caliber team of 5-7 developers, working on large-scale, complex, and cutting-edge distributed systems in a hands-on capacity
- Manage the delivery of multiple, complex, simultaneous development projects from design through to release
- Ensure that risks and issues are identified and managed closely while driving all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards
- Make key decisions to ensure the right effort at the right opportunity for the successful implementation of all initiatives
- Lead the strategy and execution of runtime security capabilities, turning customer needs into reliable, scalable features that improve visibility and incident response in live production environments
- Champion practical AI adoption across the team—standardize code assistants, test/data generation, and CI/CD bots; define guardrails, workflows, and success metrics
To be an R&D Team Leader at JFrog Security you need…
- At least 2-3 years of leading experience and at least 8-12 years as an engineer
- Experience in managing highly-skilled developers, and the ability to lead, coach, guide, and influence them
- Proven experience in Go/Python/Java
- Experience working with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments
- Experience in developing scalable, concurrent, low-latency, fault-tolerant systems
- Experience in SaaS/Cloud/Microservices architecture
- Advantage – Familiarity with the runtime cloud security domain for cloud-native environments with a track record of shipping high-impact capabilities
- Advantage – Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into engineering workflows, including prompt design, evaluation, privacy/governance, and measurable impact
