About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer
In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Interact with customer and vendor
Required Qualifications/Skills:
5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, with deep expertise in Trader Voice / Trading Floor technologies.
Strong hands-on experience with IPC Unigy, Cloud9 Voice, and/or Speakerbus platforms.
Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting Trader Voice solutions, including Ring‑Down circuits such as ARD, MRD, Hoot, and SIP‑based voice services.
Solid understanding of VoIP, SIP, multicast, low-latency networking, and voice recording systems.
Experience supporting mission-critical, front-office environments in financial services.
Proven ability to lead complex incident response and large-scale infrastructure changes.
Experience leading infrastructure modernization or trading floor transformation programs.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with ability to communicate effectively with Trading, Compliance, and Senior Leadership.
Proven experience with platform lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, capacity planning, decommissioning)
Strong incident, problem, and change management experience (ITIL‑aligned)
Experience providing Level 4 escalation support in production environments
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and operational efficiency
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) skills
Excellent communication skills for technical and leadership audiences
Ability to collaborate across infrastructure, security, compliance, and application teams
Experience working in large, regulated enterprise environments.
Experience in global investment banking or capital markets environments.
Exposure to voice recording solutions (NICE, Verba, Theta Lake etc.).
Knowledge of cloud and hybrid voice architectures (private cloud, Azure/AWS integrations).
Familiarity with ITIL, SRE concepts, and automation frameworks.
Job Expectations:
As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for the Trader Voice Engineering team, you will own the engineering, stability, and evolution of next‑generation Trader Voice platforms, including Cloud9 and IPC Unigy. The role drives capacity planning, platform upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation, working in close partnership with Information Security and enterprise stakeholders.You will provide Level 4 production support, lead controlled platform upgrades through established change and testing frameworks, and oversee technical initiatives to improve resiliency, performance, and scalability. The role also partners with strategic vendors to manage support, implementations, and configurations, ensuring platforms meet enterprise, regulatory, and operational standards.
Lead the design, build, and support of Trader Voice infrastructure including IPC Unigy, Cloud9, and Speakerbus platforms.
Ensure 24x7 availability, low latency, and high resilience of trading floor voice services across global locations.
Own platform lifecycle management: upgrades, patches, capacity planning, and decommissioning of legacy systems.
Drive adoption of modern architectures, including virtualized, cloud-enabled, and hybrid voice services where applicable.
Act as a L-4 escalation point for critical trading floor incidents, ensuring rapid restoration and root cause resolution.
Lead problem management activities to eliminate recurring issues and improve platform stability.
Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and automation to reduce operational risk and MTTR.
Ensure trader voice platforms meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., voice recording, surveillance, retention, resiliency).
Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to support audits, attestations, and control testing.
Embed security best practices including access controls, encryption, and vendor risk management.
Serve as the technical lead for strategic vendors including IPC Systems, Cloud9, and Speakerbus.
Manage vendor relationships, licensing, SLAs, escalations, and roadmap alignment.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers supporting trader voice platforms.
Drive engineering standards, documentation, runbooks, and operational excellence.
Lead or contribute to transformation initiatives such as trading floor migrations, site builds, and voice modernization programs.
Drive automation and operational efficiency using PowerShell and scripting.
Manage changes in alignment with ITIL change management practices.
Engage with vendors and manufacturers for support, upgrades, implementations, and platform roadmap planning.
Develop and lead focused technical forums, working groups, and communities of practice to drive architectural discussions, idea generation, and engineering best practices.
Work closely with Product Managers to help shape product vision, strategy, and long‑term roadmaps.
