Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Health & Welfare: $6.08 per hour

About the Role

The Cook II is responsible for independently preparing and cooking large quantities of food in a high-volume dining facility, ensuring quality, consistency, and strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

What You'll Be Doing

Prepare and cook large quantities of food independently using a variety of methods in accordance with Army recipes and local menu plans.
Ensure proper portion control, plating, and presentation standards are maintained.
Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and greet guests in a friendly, professional manner.
Maintain accurate temperature logs and ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
Complete all side work, setup, and breakdown duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

A minimum of two (2) years of prior cooking experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
Ability to maintain a valid ServSafe certification.
Experience in a military kitchen (DFAC) preferred.
Must satisfactorily complete Food Service Medical Clearance (Tri Service Food Code – TB Med 530).
Ability to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
Possess a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening including a comprehensive background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Fast-paced commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, sharp tools, and cleaning chemicals; requires strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, and reaching for extended periods.
Must be available to work on-call, alternate, and extended shifts as needed to support mission requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Employees may be required to remain on-site for extended periods during scheduled exercises or real-world events (e.g., 24-hour lockdowns) to meet contractual obligations.

US Pay Range

$20—$20 USD
