Job Description : 

The Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Cardiovascular Institute is recruiting a full time Advanced Heart Failure cardiologist to join the Advanced Heart Failure/ Pulmonary Hypertension team at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. The Cardiovascular Institute at AHN includes a comprehensive panel of physicians, including multiple cardiology service lines (heart failure, electrophysiology, general cardiology, interventional cardiology and imaging), cardiothoracic and vascular surgery as well as cardiac critical care.

Highlights: 

  • 7 Board Certified Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologists, 5 APP’s and 3 Full Time Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgeons.
  • Treatment of Advanced Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, Shock, Transplant and VAD
  • Management of temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support as well as cardiac transplantation
  • Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship Programs
  • Academic appointment to Drexel University will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of ACGME approved Cardiovascular/Heart Failure Fellowship
  • American Board Eligible/Board Certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) 
  • Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
