Role Summary

The Copilot & Power Platform Lead role is accountable for the in-life governance, operational management, and continual optimisation of Microsoft Copilot, Copilot agents, and supporting Power Platform environments across Haleon’s Digital and Technology landscape.

Working closely with Architecture, CDO, DTIS, Service Assurance, Operations, and strategic technology partners including Microsoft, the role ensures Copilot capabilities and Power Platform hosted agent solutions are operated safely, effectively, and consistently in line with agreed designs, policies, and controls. The focus is on tenant readiness, platform administration, licensing, environment governance, monitoring, issue resolution, and evergreen management rather than solution design or software engineering.

The role ensures Copilot and agent services continue to deliver intended business outcomes and a positive user experience, while maintaining strong standards for security, compliance, operational resilience, transparency, and accountability once live.

Key responsibilities

Copilot Platform Governance and Readiness

  • Stay aligned with upcoming Microsoft Copilot platform capabilities and roadmap changes, translating these into readiness actions for Adoption, CDO, Operations, and Service Assurance teams.

  • Ensure the Copilot platform remains evergreen by coordinating service readiness, feature adoption planning, and operational alignment across internal teams.

  • Act as the operational owner for Copilot administration activities, ensuring the platform is governed in line with agreed architecture, data, security, and compliance standards.

  • Bring external Copilot expertise and Microsoft best practices into Haleon to support informed decision making, accelerate adoption, and ensure alignment with industry standards.

  • Act as a trusted advisor by translating Microsoft roadmap developments into tenant level impact, risk, and benefit discussions for business and technical stakeholders.

Licensing, Access, and Lifecycle Management

  • Manage Copilot licensing, including assignment, reclamation, lifecycle tracking, and optimisation in partnership with Service Assurance and Copilot leads.

  • Support governance of user access and entitlement models for Copilot and agent related services, ensuring alignment with business need and least privilege principles.

  • Maintain visibility of active usage, license allocation, and optimisation opportunities to improve adoption and cost efficiency.

  • Apply strong identity and access management controls leveraging Microsoft Entra ID capabilities, Conditional Access, PIM, and app registration governance where relevant.

Power Platform and Copilot Agent Environment Management

  • Set up, administer, and govern Power Platform environments used for Copilot agents in partnership with CDO and relevant platform owners.

  • Support governance, security, and Center of Excellence aligned administration for Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Copilot Studio capabilities where applicable.

  • Ensure environments hosting Copilot agents are structured, monitored, and maintained in line with operational and compliance expectations.

  • Troubleshoot platform and environment issues impacting agents and coordinate timely resolution across engineering, operations, and partner teams.

  • Support integration of Copilot and Copilot Studio capabilities into operational workflows to drive automation, AI enabled productivity, and business process improvement.

Monitoring, Support, and Operational Assurance

  • Monitor platform health, service availability, usage trends, and environment level risks across Copilot and agent hosting platforms.

  • Ensure operational support models, ownership, escalation paths, and knowledge artefacts are defined and maintained for live Copilot and agent services.

  • Work with Operations and service teams to improve incident response, root cause analysis, and service recovery for platform issues affecting user experience.

  • Act as the technical escalation and coordination point for operational issues impacting Copilot, agents, and associated Power Platform services.

  • Ensure service delivery is optimised for scalability, resilience, capacity, and cost across the relevant M365 and Power Platform components.

Security, Risk, and Compliance

  • Strengthen the overall security posture of Copilot and agent platforms through close collaboration with DTIS, CDO, and service teams.

  • Ensure platform controls remain aligned with enterprise security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements.

  • Support assessments with Microsoft and internal teams to identify platform gaps, risks, and improvement actions, and drive closure of agreed outcomes.

  • Apply security and compliance good practices across M365 and Power Platform services, including use of Microsoft Security and Compliance capabilities where relevant.

  • Maintain operational evidence and governance records needed to support assurance, audit, and control reviews.

Stakeholder and Partner Engagement

  • Partner with Microsoft, DTIS, CDO, Service Assurance, and Operations to lead Copilot assessments and drive closure of identified gaps.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and ensure Copilot and agent services are supportable and aligned to business outcomes.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure adherence to Haleon operational, governance, and security standards.

  • Communicate complex technical matters clearly to senior stakeholders and provide concise updates on platform health, readiness, risk, and optimisation opportunities.

About you

Essential

  • Experience in Microsoft 365 platform administration, service governance, or operational management within a complex enterprise environment.

  • Strong hands on knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, Copilot agents, and Power Platform administration.

  • Experience setting up and managing Power Platform environments, including governance and security controls.

  • Strong understanding of Power Platform services including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Copilot Studio.

  • Experience managing platform licensing, assignment, lifecycle, and optimisation for enterprise services.

  • Proven ability to work across Architecture, CDO, Cyber, Operations, and Service Assurance teams with clear accountability.

  • Good understanding of Microsoft identity and access management, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM, and app registrations.

  • Experience troubleshooting live platform issues and coordinating resolution across support and engineering teams.

  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance requirements for Microsoft cloud platforms.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly PowerShell, to support administration and operational efficiency.

Preferred

  • Experience working with Microsoft roadmap planning, feature readiness, and evergreen platform management.

  • Familiarity with Power Platform Center of Excellence practices and enterprise environment strategy.

  • Exposure to Microsoft Security and Compliance tooling in support of platform risk management.

  • Understanding of networking and connectivity concepts relevant to Microsoft cloud services, including DNS and firewall dependencies.

  • Familiarity with ITIL service management and enterprise service delivery models.

  • Experience working with strategic technology partners and outsourced support providers in a global operating model.

  • Experience supporting adoption and operationalisation of AI enabled workplace capabilities.
