The Opportunity: 

KBR is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our Sydney team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and technically strong professional looking to step into a senior role with increased responsibility and influence across major projects. 

  

Working within a high-performing multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of structural solutions across a diverse portfolio including Defence, Maritime, Infrastructure and Water projects. You will contribute your expertise to complex design challenges while supporting the development of junior designers and maintaining excellence in delivery. 

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver high quality structural design and modelling outputs across major defence, water and infrastructure projects 

  • Take ownership of structural documentation and detailing, ensuring compliance with project requirements and KBR quality standards 

  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams 

  • Support design coordination and contribute to resolving complex technical challenges 

  • Ensure deliverables meet budget, program and quality expectations 

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior designers and modellers 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and delivery standards 

  

About You 

You are a technically capable and detail-oriented designer with strong experience in structural modelling across complex infrastructure projects. You bring a proactive approach to delivery, enjoy working collaboratively, and are ready to take on a more senior role within a respected global organisation. 

  

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

  • Established experience in structural design/modelling within an engineering consultancy environment 

  • Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks 

  • Demonstrated experience across buildings and infrastructure projects, with exposure to water infrastructure (treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, or related assets) highly regarded 

  • Experience working on Defence, maritime or large-scale civil projects is advantageous 

  • Solid understanding of structural detailing, documentation and coordination requirements 

  • Proven ability to deliver outputs aligned to budget, schedule and quality expectations 

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members 

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Design, Engineering or related discipline
