Scope of Position
- Assists the Engineering department on various projects and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Senior university student working towards an engineering degree, or equivalent, or recent graduate
- Some product design and CAD design experience (preferably with Solid Works or Draft Sight), proficiency in mechanical drafting
- Strong documentation, organizational and project management skills
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
- Office 365 skills (excel, word, PowerPoint, etc)
Job Responsibilities
- Assists in part proposal drawings: starting from rough design concepts up to detail/final drawings.
- Responsible for all drawing information including: tolerance/fits, GDT specifications and surface finishes to required standards.
- Assists with Manufacturing Engineer with ergonomic initiatives, projects and data entry.
- Coordinates all continuous improvement suggestions brought to the Engineering department’s attention, ensuring follow up and timely implementation.
- Maintains part interim stage drawings.
- Participates in the design of fixtures, tools, gauges, molds and dies.
- Responsible for all pertinent drawings and parts list.
- Maintains and updates CAD files library.
- Ensures design sketches/concepts are in compliance with Health, Safety, & Environmental legislation/best practices.
- Available for discussion in setting up for initial production runs, and as requested in resolving production problems on new products.
- Maintains proper filing system to ensure all information are properly stored and easily retrieved.
- Initiate plans and ideas for cost cutting and/or quality improvement measures.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager or designate
- Assist HSE with safety audits
- Assist all departments with preparation for IATF/LPA audits
