This is a temporary position, and no leave or retirement benefits are offered. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This temporary position is located at 517 West Fleming Drive, Morganton, NC 28655- Burke County, with the NC School for the Deaf.   

Provide medical care for students who are ill or injured between the ages of 4-22.

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $35.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  
 
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed in the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants. 

Management Preferences:  

•    Management of students with chronic health conditions
•    Ensure all students' immunizations are current, including the administration

of annual influenza vaccinations.
•    Provide health education to students, families, and staff
•    Administer medications that are scheduled and per MD standing orders
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records
