About the role
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our Corporate IT team in Huntsville, AL (Discovery). You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Falcata/TSC’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across platforms and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain Cisco-based enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and WAN technologies.
- Support Cisco Catalyst, Meraki, and related networking platforms.
- Administer and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, BGP, MPLS, and Versa SDWAN.
- Manage campus LAN, data center, branch-office, and cloud-connected network environments.
- Configure and support Cisco security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, access control lists, segmentation, and secure remote access.
- Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security using enterprise network-management and observability tools.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity, latency, packet-loss, and performance issues.
- Implement network changes in accordance with documented change-management, testing, and rollback procedures.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, addressing schemes, device configurations, standards, and operational documentation.
- Participate in network architecture, capacity planning, technology evaluations, and infrastructure refresh initiatives.
- Collaborate with systems, security, cloud, telecommunications, and application teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Develop and maintain standardized configurations, templates, and operational procedures.
- Participate in cyber investigations, audits, incident response, root-cause analysis, problem management, and post-incident reviews.
- Provide on-call or after-hours support as required for critical network incidents and planned maintenance.
- Ensure network implementations align with security policies, compliance requirements, and organizational standards.
- Work with vendors, carriers, and managed-service providers to troubleshoot circuits, hardware, software, and service issues.
- Apply firmware, software, and security updates while minimizing business disruption.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing and technical training.
- Maintain current knowledge of Cisco and Versa SDWAN technologies, networking best practices, and emerging infrastructure trends.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Network Engineering or a related IT field (equivalent education or experience considered).
· 5-7 or more years of experience in IT support roles (equivalent experience considered).
· U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
