SUMMARY
Q2 is seeking a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to Q2’s high standards.
A Typical Day:
- Administrating full suite of Azure cloud technologies (Storage accounts, blob storage, conditional access, ExpressRoute circuits, storage sync, enterprise applications, app registrations, etc.)
- Manage and support the deployment and administration of Azure Virtual Machines as well as Azure Virtual Desktops via Nerdio
- Perform security patching and updates on Windows and Linux systems during defined maintenance windows
- Upgrade and maintain administrative tools and utilities; configure or implement new services as required to meet operational needs
- Develop, maintain, and improve system documentation, procedures, and operational playbooks
- Manage Active Directory service account provisioning and deprovisioning as well as password and identity lifecycle; enforce enterprise identity and access policies
- Manage DNS, DHCP, GPO, Subnets, and PKI infrastructure
- Manage M365 technologies including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, PowerBI and O365 Suite
- Provide Tier III support to internal stakeholders; investigate and resolve escalated technical issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues affecting mission critical systems and applications to ensure high availability and performance
- Implement, upgrade, and configure core infrastructure and asset management systems per project and operational requirements
- Monitor and analyze system performance across the corporate environment to identify areas for enhancement
- Produce regular system performance reports to support capacity planning and scalability
- Ensure adherence to all applicable security, confidentiality, availability, and privacy controls and policies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiency through automation and process optimization
- Conduct regular audits and support Compliance, Internal Audit, and Information Security reviews
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or related experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience; or related work experience
- Understanding of identity management tools, including SSO and SAML 2.0 integrations
- Hands-on experience managing cloud environments using Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Purview, and Defender
- Strong scripting skills with PowerShell; ability to automate routine tasks and workflows
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively within a team, and across departments to resolve complex issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to participate in on call rotations and perform work during scheduled maintenance windows
- Experience with project/task tracking using Jira or similar platforms
- Familiarity with MDM tools (Jamf/InTune)
- Ability to use modern AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) is a plus
