About the role
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Regulatory & Governance Analyst to support our Technology legal entities in meeting regulatory and governance requirements. This role is crucial for ensuring operational compliance and contributing to the effective management of regulatory activities. The ideal candidate will be adept at working within established frameworks, collaborating with various teams, and providing analytical support to ensure adherence to policies and timely execution of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and Citi's policies and guidelines. This includes supporting the development, implementation, and execution of legal entity requirements, particularly relating to Technology regulatory reporting.
- Data & Documentation Management: Facilitate the gathering, review, and submission of requested documentation and data, collaborating with various business units and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Be involved in operations of Citi's governance committees, including coordinating meetings, managing agendas, and ensuring follow-up on action items.
- Risk & Control Identification: Support the identification and assessment of risks within business processes, assisting in the verification of data integrity and control effectiveness. Escalate identified control issues or potential areas of non-compliance. Contribute to the oversight of the MCA program, including any local attestations, and related reporting
- Regulatory Activities & Reporting: Participate in the planning, execution, and reporting of compliance and regulatory activities for legal entities. Contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and regulators.
- Process Improvement Contribution: Support efforts to identify and implement process improvements, including assisting in the utilization of data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of regulatory activities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build effective working relationships within Technology and with other internal stakeholders, including business process owners, to ensure a coordinated approach to regulatory and governance matters.
- Operational Execution: Execute assigned tasks and deliverables related to regulatory and governance requests, demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Continuous Learning: Actively follow relevant industry best practices and regulatory developments, sharing insights with the wider team to foster continuous improvement.
- Driving work in the designated legal entities to ensure that regulatory obligations are met- including close liaison with other teams and functions to manage the workstreams, scope the work and direct activities. Around 25% of your time will be spent on globally led workstreams working across the team
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, governance, risk management, or a related field within the financial services industry
- Understanding of regulation governance and management needed for a robust regulation program in support of business objectives.
- Ability to read laws, rules, and regulations, and explain their requirements in everyday language.
- Proven ability to execute multiple projects on tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- Proactive problem solver who is resourceful, readily consults with others, and considers alternatives.
- Ability to confidently work across business lines, collaborate and interact with colleagues at all levels with a commitment to partnership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly articulating information to various audiences.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as a member of a high-performing team, with the ability to take initiative in proposing and implementing solutions.
- Prioritize effectively, and contribute positively to a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in utilizing standard office software and an aptitude for learning new systems and tools.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
- Cantonese language skills would be helpful but not essential
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the local country head and global team with the execution of their roles across local and International Technology governance
- Perform reviews of documentation to ensure processes are recorded accurately, are up to date, and are in line with Citi documentation guidelines and any applicable ESPA requirements.
- Liaise with Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit on supporting various initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of key regulatory developments, issues, and internal business decisions to proactively address any gaps
- Report and provide insight for metrics and governance KPIs to drive compliance
- Support MCA execution and escalation of compliance issues
- Provide data analysis and reporting support
