Pay Rate: $42.20 per hour
Health & Welfare: $980 per month
About the Role
The Lead Electrician performs electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
What You'll Be Doing
- Inspects, maintains, cleans, repairs, tests, and adjusts a variety of electrical equipment, circuitry, and fixtures.
- Performs maintenance and repair on electrical equipment including motors, switchgear, circuit breakers, electrical buzzer and bell circuits, lighting circuits, light fixtures, air movement fans, switches, heating and air-conditioning equipment and machinery, master clocks, rheostats, thermostats, and electrical drills, grinders, and other related electrical shop equipment.
- Installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures.
- Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances needed for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits, related fixtures, and hardware.
- Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles, and installs conduits, inserts, splicing and connecting wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power source.
- Tests circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter; and Electrical circuits include voltage up to 600 volts, 3-phase current.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Master Electrician license issued by a municipality within the State of South Carolina.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls, including their composition, operation, and installation, as well as national and local electrical codes.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, with the ability to follow maintenance instructions, schedules, and work order requirements.
- Skilled in performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and completing repairs as required.
- Ability to plan, layout, install, modify, and repair complex electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Experienced in the use of electrical testing equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, and ohmmeters.
- Ability to independently plan and execute complex electrical work from blueprints or technical documentation in accordance with accepted trade practices and applicable codes.
- Capable of performing both complex installations and routine electrical tasks independently based on work orders, sketches, or instructions.
- Ability to maintain access to government worksites.
- Willingness to work alternate and extended shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet mission requirements.
- Ability to perform on-call duties and report to work within required timeframes.
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
- Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, bending, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to frequently bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
