Job Description
A Cloud Infrastructure & Wintel technical leader is a senior level professional who has in-depth
knowledge and experience on Microsoft’s Azure Cloud computing platform and Wintel technologies.
The ideal candidate possesses a wide range of skills and abilities that are essential for providing
advanced technical guidance and serve as a lead technical subject matter expert to support all SaaS,
IaaS, and PaaS cloud services as well as existing on-prem technologies. As part of the Global
Technology Operations team, you will be working closely with the Engineering and Information
Security Teams to deliver and support infrastructure solutions to the organization. You will define
operational support standards and look to document, train and manage Integrated Operations Center
skilled contingent workers to perform level 1, level 2 and level 3 technical support and the support of
any routine operational activities.

The Automation SME / Senior Manager – ITDR & Resiliency Automation is responsible for driving the design, implementation, and scaling of automation-led IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) and Resiliency Assurance capabilities across Prudential’s hybrid technology landscape.

This role operates within Group Technology Operations, providing hands-on leadership and technical expertise to transform traditional, manual DR and resiliency testing into automated, orchestrated recovery capabilities.

The role will establish automation frameworks, orchestration models, and intelligent resiliency practices that ensure:

  • Predictable and repeatable recovery outcomes
  • Increased resiliency testing optimization

This includes both:

  • On-premise environments (VMware, Wintel/Linux, AIX, AS400, Storage replication)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Strategy & Framework: Align with group-wide ITDR and Resiliency Automation Strategy, GTO and Resiliency Assurance objectives. Establish standardized automation frameworks, including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Runbook automation, Policy-as-Code governance. Drive adoption of automation-first recovery and resiliency design principles across infrastructure and platform teams
  • DR Recovery Automation & Orchestration: Design and implement end-to-end DR orchestration frameworks across Critical Systems and hybrid infrastructure, Enable automated failover, failback, and recovery execution for critical services
  • Resiliency Testing Automation: Lead the transformation of resiliency assurance testing into automated execution pipelines. Implement: Automated DR drills and failover simulations, validation of RTO / RPO compliance & artifact collection for auditing.
  • Risk, Assurance & Compliance Enablement: Ensure all automation capabilities are: Auditable, traceable and aligned with Group ITDR standards. Automate: Evidence collection for DR testing & Reporting for resiliency assurance. Support audit, risk, and regulatory engagements.
  • Platform Engineering & Tooling: Build and manage automation platforms leveraging: Terraform (IaC), Ansible (configuration management) & Scripting (Python / PowerShell). Integrate automation into: CI/CD pipelines (GitHub / Azure DevOps). Develop scalable, reusable automation components across services
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Delivery: Collaborate with: Infrastructure (Compute, Network, Storage) teams, Cloud engineering teams (Azure, GCP) & Application owners, Managed Service Vendor and Local Business Units teams. Act as the technical lead for automation across ITDR and resiliency domains. Drive structured delivery: Proof of Concept (PoC), Pilot implementations & Enterprise rollout
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to: Improve recovery speed (MTTR reduction), Increase resiliency testing frequency and coverage & Optimize operational efficiency. Evaluate emerging tools: Automation orchestration, AIOps platforms & Cloud-native resiliency solutions

Minimum job requirement

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure (On-Prem & Cloud), Disaster Recovery (ITDR), with a focus on resiliency and automation engineering.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in: Automation (ASR - Azure Site Recovery, Ansible, scripting) & DR technologies (backup, replication, failover)
  • Hands-on experience with: On-prem: VMware, Wintel/Linux, AIX, AS400 & Cloud: Azure and Google Cloud
  • Experience working in: Financial services or regulated environments (preferred)
  • Proven ability to: Lead transformation initiatives & Drive cross-functional delivery
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks
  • DR orchestration tools (e.g., Veeam, replication technologies)
  • Cloud DR architectures (Azure, GCP)
  • CI/CD and automation pipelines
  • Observability / monitoring / AIOps platforms
