Job Description:
An opportunity for a Strategic Procurement Manager - Next Generation Composites has arisen within Airbus Operations, Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the PMBC (Composites Strategic Procurement) Team, which is in charge of leading the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) for composite materials across the entire Airbus Group through the Procurement Synergy Group (PSG). This team works in a highly transnational, cross-functional, and cross-divisional environment, collaborating closely with R&T, Engineering, Manufacturing, SC&Q, and major suppliers to define, develop, and secure the next generation of composite technologies that will directly impact future aircraft platforms and business decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
Lead the creation and execution of the Composites Procurement Strategy (including Key Principles, Implementation Strategy, and Planning) in alignment with the Next Gen Programme Strategy.
Coordinate the overall Procurement involvement for Next Generation Composite Materials, leading the Call for Tender activities and managing functional, cross-divisional teams.
Establish and maintain the contractual framework for new composite developments (NDAs, Cooperation, and Research Agreements) with external suppliers.
Monitor and secure suppliers’ involvement, performance, and adherence to Programme milestones, planning, and material deliveries for trials.
Ensure Procurement's contribution to material trade-offs (evaluating cost, industrial capability, and sovereignty) and drive Risk & Opportunity Management.
Consolidate inputs and deliver presentations to higher management at key decision-making forums and Programme gates.

Education: Degree in Engineering, Science (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, etc.), or Business Administration.
Experience: Proven experience in Procurement, managing international suppliers, key contracts, and competitive bidding processes.
Soft Skills: Functional leadership, excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills, with a high ability to structure complex data and work in a transnational networking mode.
Languages: Advanced / Fluent level in English (C1/C2).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of procurement frameworks, risk management, and strategic sourcing processes.
Valuable / Nice to have: Knowledge of materials (specially composite technologies) and Project Management methodology will be highly valued.
