As the Raytheon Australia Life Support Senior Technician, you will be employed within the Life Support Section of the Intermediate Level Maintenance (ILM) Facility, undertaking maintenance, inspection, testing, repair, and overhaul activities on Life Support equipment fitted to the RAAF's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft based at RAAF Base Amberley.
Working in support of Raytheon Australia's Air Combat Electronic Attack Sustainment Program (ACEASP), you will be responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness and operational readiness of critical aircrew life support systems. The role includes conducting approved repair and sewing activities on textile-based life support assemblies and associated equipment, in accordance with authorised maintenance data, technical regulations, and quality requirements.
This position plays a vital role in sustaining the operational capability of the RAAF's frontline combat aircraft and requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilties
- Undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to facilitate aeronautical component production within ADF Technical and Regulatory airworthiness guidelines.
- Achieve Trade Supervisor authorisation for Life Support component maintenance activities within the Life Support section.
- Repair and / or Bay Service of Repairable Items (RI’s) and sub components of the Aircraft Survival Kit Unit.
- Perform sewing, fabrication, and repair of aviation life support equipment in accordance with approved maintenance procedures
- Modifications (if required) of various parts or higher assemblies
- Full functional testing of these RI’s on Test Equipment.
- Strong focus on safety while meeting production requirements.
- Ensuring Technical, Quality and Regulatory compliance is conducted to meet Defence Aviation Safety Regulations and ISO certifications.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Certificate III - Aircraft Life Support and Furnishing or national equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in Aircraft or workshop maintenance.
- User familiarity with the ADF Computer Aided Maintenance Management 2 (CAMM2) system.
- Have a good understanding of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.
- Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
