Part-Time Payroll / HR Coordinator
Medical Hill Healthcare Center
Pay: $37/hour
Schedule: Part-Time
General Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the DSD, DON, and Administrator in administering policies, implementing facility orientation programs, and supporting payroll and human resources functions in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Human Resources & Administrative Support
Support organizational goals and values.
Receive and follow schedules and instructions from supervisors in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and initiative.
Assist with organizing and conducting new employee orientation, including resident rights, infection control, safety procedures, facility philosophy, and policies.
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
Assist with recruitment and onboarding, including candidate screening and scheduling interviews.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate employee records.
Prepare and update employment records related to hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, disability, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, and leaves of absence.
Work with the Risk Manager on workers’ compensation and complex HR cases as needed.
Schedule and post employee in-services and maintain attendance records.
Coordinate employee health screenings, safety programs, and required drills.
Assist with incident and accident reporting in accordance with facility procedures.
Promote positive public relations with residents, families, staff, and the community.
Participate in facility surveys and compliance audits.
Partner with HR leadership to ensure compliance with organizational policies and objectives.
Payroll Responsibilities
Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Process and monitor garnishments and payroll-related adjustments.
Update payroll records including deductions, insurance coverage, tax exemptions, transfers, and title changes.
Process employee paychecks and direct deposits.
Prepare payroll reports, summaries, and reconciliations.
Process manual and termination checks within required timelines.
Monitor sick leave and vacation accruals.
Process employment verifications.
Prepare payroll allocation reports for finance.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain payroll accuracy.
Ensure payroll confidentiality and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
Previous payroll and/or human resources experience preferred.
Healthcare or skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
Knowledge of payroll systems, labor laws, and HR practices.
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
Reliable attendance and dependability required.
