Overview

Haemme sähköasentajia, LVI‑asentajia ja muita teknisen kunnossapidon ammattilaisia työskentelemään Microsoftin datakeskuksissa CE Technician ‑roolissa.

Microsoftin Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) vastaa Microsoftin datakeskusten kriittisestä infrastruktuurista ympäri maailmaa. Datakeskus on vaativa tekninen laitos – monella tapaa verrattavissa tehtaaseen, energia‑ tai prosessilaitokseen – jossa sähkö, jäähdytys, automaatio ja varavoimajärjestelmät ovat jatkuvasti käytössä.

CE Technicianina huolehdit siitä, että sähkö‑, LVI‑, jäähdytys‑ ja ohjausjärjestelmät toimivat turvallisesti, hallitusti ja standardien mukaisesti vuorokauden ympäri. Työsi on käytännönläheistä kunnossapitoa, valvontaa ja vianetsintää, jossa toimitaan selkeästi määriteltyjen prosessien, työohjeiden ja käyttöperiaatteiden mukaisesti.

We are seeking Electricians, HVAC technicians and other technical maintenance professionals to work in Microsoft datacentres in the role of Critical Environment Technician.

Microsoft Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is responsible for Microsoft’s critical datacentre infrastructure worldwide. A datacentre is a highly demanding technical facility – in many ways comparable to an industrial plant, power station or process facility – where electrical power, cooling, automation and backup power systems operate continuously.

As a CE Technician, you ensure that electrical, HVAC, cooling and control systems operate safely, in a controlled manner, and in accordance with standards around the clock. Your work focuses on hands‑on maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting, following clearly defined processes, work instructions and operating principles.

Microsoft’s datacentre operations are governed by well‑defined operating models, operations and maintenance processes, as well as strict safety and quality requirements. Work is carried out in a planned, documented and risk‑controlled manner. You will receive comprehensive onboarding and training on systems and ways of working – you are not expected to know everything from day one. Willingness to learn, accountability and adherence to procedures are key to success.

Responsibilities

Vastuualueet ja työtehtävät

Työskentelet osana operatiivista tiimiä ja osallistut yhden tai useamman teknisen kokonaisuuden käyttöön

ja kunnossapitoon, kuten:

Sähköjärjestelmät (sähköasemat, UPS‑järjestelmät, varavoimageneraattorit)

Mekaaniset ja jäähdytysjärjestelmät (IV‑koneet, jäähdytys, lämmönsiirto ja LVI‑kokonaisuudet)

Rakennusautomaatio ja ohjausjärjestelmät

Keskeisiä tehtäviäsi ovat:

• Datakeskuksen laitteiden, tilojen ja alueiden päivittäinen ja säännöllinen tarkastus ja valvonta ennalta määriteltyjen kierrosten ja tarkastusprosessien mukaisesti
• Poikkeamien ja vikojen tunnistaminen sekä toiminta häiriö‑ ja poikkeustilanteissa ohjeistettujen toimintamallien mukaan
• Suunniteltu, ennakoiva ja korjaava kunnossapito, dokumentoitujen työohjeiden ja hyväksyttyjen menettelytapojen mukaisesti
• Osallistuminen vianetsintään ja teknisten ongelmien selvittäminen turvallisesti ja järjestelmällisesti
• Kunnossapitotöiden kirjaaminen ja seuranta kunnossapidon hallintajärjestelmässä (CMMS)
• Ulkopuolisten urakoitsijoiden työn valvonta sekä töiden yhteensovittaminen Microsoftin työluva‑ ja turvallisuusprosessien mukaisesti
• Osallistuminen käyttö‑, huolto‑ ja hätätoimintaohjeiden (SOP, MOP, EOP) kehittämiseen ja ylläpitoon
• Yhteistyö tiimin, valvomon ja muiden sidosryhmien kanssa
• Työ on teknistä kenttätyötä, jossa korostuvat prosessien noudattaminen, dokumentointi, turvallisuuskulttuuri ja huolellinen tekeminen.

Turvallinen ja prosessiohjattu työympäristö

Datakeskus on korkean turvallisuustason kriittinen toimintaympäristö. CE Technicianina:

• Toimit Microsoftin turvallisuus‑, EHS‑ ja työlupakäytäntöjen mukaisesti
• Noudatat käyttö‑, kunnossapito‑ ja muutostyöohjeita (mm. riskienhallinta ja muutosten hallinta)
• Osallistut vaadittuihin turvallisuus‑ ja järjestelmäkoulutuksiin
• Varmistat omalta osaltasi, että työympäristö säilyy turvallisena, valvottuna ja luotettavana
• Toimit tarvittaessa saattajana toimittajille ja urakoitsijoille

Turvallisuus ja standardien mukainen toiminta eivät ole kiireestä tinkimistä – vaan perusta koko toiminnalle.

You will work as part of an operational team and participate in the operations and maintenance of one or more technical systems, such as:

Electrical systems (substations, UPS systems, standby generators)

Mechanical and cooling systems (air handling units, cooling, heat transfer and HVAC systems)

Building automation and control systems

Your key responsibilities include:

• Daily and routine inspection and monitoring of datacentre equipment, spaces and areas in accordance with predefined rounds and inspection procedures
• Identifying deviations and faults, and responding to incidents and abnormal situations according to defined operating models
• Planned, preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with documented work instructions and approved procedures
• Participation in safe and systematic troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues
• Recording and tracking maintenance activities in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Supervising external contractors and coordinating work in accordance with Microsoft’s work permit and safety processes
• Participating in the development and maintenance of operating, maintenance and emergency procedures (SOP, MOP, EOP)
• Collaboration with the team, control room and other stakeholders

This is a technical, hands‑on field role where adherence to processes, documentation, safety culture and careful execution are essential.

• Work in accordance with Microsoft’s security, EHS and work permit practices
• Follow operational, maintenance and change management procedures (including risk management and change control)
• Participate in required safety and system training
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, controlled and reliable working environment
• Act as an escort for suppliers and contractors when required
• Safety and standards‑based operations are not something to compromise on due to urgency – they are the foundation of all activities.

Qualifications

• Vähintään noin 1 vuoden kokemus teknisestä työstä, esimerkiksi:
  • teollisuuden kunnossapidosta
    sähkö‑ tai LVI‑asennuksista
    energia‑, prosessi‑ tai tuotantolaitoksista
    datakeskus‑, sairaala‑ tai muista vaativista teknisistä ympäristöistä

Minimum Qualifications

• Upper secondary education (vocational or general upper secondary school) or equivalent practical work experience
• Some prior experience in technical work,such as: industrial maintenance, electrical or HVAC installations,energy, process or production facilities, datacentres, hospitals or other demanding technical environments
• You will be required to travel between sites as part of this role so a valid driver’s license will be required. 

While not required, we also look for the following, Preferred Qualifications:  

• Education in electrical, automation, HVAC or energy sector
• Several years of experience in maintenance or critical operational environments
• Experience with safety and work permit practices, process facilities or 24/7 environments
• Ability to work independently while following instructions and standards
• Willingness to learn new systems, processes and ways of working
