Senior Software Engineer - Stablecoin

What's the opportunity?

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who loves building from scratch, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to grow their technical expertise in a high-impact domain. You'll work closely with our Staff Engineer and cross-functional team to bring the stablecoin initiative to life.

This is a newly created role on a high-priority project. It's fast-moving, complex, and full of learning opportunities - perfect for someone who enjoys solving hard problems and shipping quality code.

What you'll do

• Build from zero: Contribute to technical discovery and MVP development for SURO, coding daily in Kotlin or Go.
• Design reliable systems: Help build high-SLA, service-oriented systems that integrate with our ledger, reconciliation, and treasury platforms.
• Deliver quality: Write clean, tested, maintainable code with a focus on reliability, security, and observability.
• Collaborate across teams: Work with Product, Finance, Legal, and Banking to deliver features that meet regulatory standards.
• Grow your skills: Learn from experienced engineers and expand your expertise in payments, compliance, and blockchain technologies.
• Own features end-to-end: Take ownership of specific components from design through deployment and monitoring.

What makes you a great fit

• 4+ years of backend development experience shipping production software, ideally in payments, PSP, acquiring, or digital wallets.
• Strong backend expertise in Kotlin or Go, with solid understanding of cloud-native patterns (microservices, event-driven systems, CI/CD).
• Experience building systems that handle high transaction volumes and meet strict SLAs.
• A builder's mindset: comfortable with uncertainty, rapid prototyping, and iterating in greenfield environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills: able to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Bonus: Familiarity with blockchain concepts or curiosity about crypto/stablecoin products.
