Position: Staff Customer Quality Engineer
- Role Overview
The Automotive Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) serves as the primary interface between ADI and automotive customers, driving customer satisfaction, issue resolution, and continuous quality improvement across the product lifecycle.
Functions as a front-line quality engineering, coordinating and driving cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes, onsite issue investigation and meeting, customer audit, Quality relevant inquiry including PPAP, PCN, Reliability (AECQ), EHS etc.
- Key Responsibilities
Customer Issue Resolution & Escalation Management
- Serve as primary customer contact for quality issues throughout resolution lifecycle
- Coordinate: Failure Analysis (FA), 8D problem solving process; Drive containment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
- Manage escalation and ensure timely customer communication on the quality issue
Customer Communication & Interface
- Translate customer requirements into internal actions and align cross-functional teams
- Communicate: Customer expectations and urgency to ADI teams; Technical findings, reports, and updates to customers
- Provide local language support and ensure zero information loss
Quality Systems & Process Management
- Manage customer issues and ensure proper tracking, documentation, and closure of quality events
Change Management (PCN / PPAP)
- Drive customer communication and approval for PPAP/PSW, PCN approval
- Coordinate with process owners and quality teams to complete required documentation, data, samples etc.
Customer Quality Support & Engagement
- Support customer activities such as: Audits; Quality workshops; Reliability and quality relevant inquiries; Participate in advanced customer discussions and sales support
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with: Failure Analysis and Reliability teams; Product Line Quality; Fab, Assembly, Test team
- Act as 8D team member and coordinator across global teams
- Support and take initiatives for defined quality project
- To complete the task that is given by leader
- Support in team/ other quality department related work
- Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Materials / Quality Engineering
- 6+ years experience in:
- Semiconductor quality / automotive quality / FA / CQE roles
- Fluency in both written and Oral English, Chinese communication
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- FA / 8D / Quality tools
- Automotive standards (IATF16949, AEC-Q, PPAP, PCN)
- Experience in:
- IC manufacturing process (Fab, Assembly, Test)
- Reliability and failure analysis/mechanisms
- Automotive customer audit
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, data analysis, AI
