Job Description

Inside the Role

The Diagnostics Tools and Toolchains IT Manager oversees strategy and delivery for advanced diagnostic platforms supporting development, manufacturing, and aftersales. This role ensures secure, reliable, and future-ready solutions by leading technical teams, collaborating with partners, and aligning technology updates to business needs across North America and global TT/IT initiatives.

Leads professional service contracts to complete tasks and directs the work of staff level individuals at DTICI. This role has no direct reports at DDC.

This is a project role intended to transfer knowledge in this specific area, for eventual relocation of content to the relevant team at DTICI. Ideal candidate would be available to relocate with content to DTICI.

Note: this is a time-limited role, anticipated for 2 years.

Position offers a starting salary range of $144,000 – $184,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Drive the strategy, architecture, development, and continuous enhancement of the Diagnostic Link Engineering (DLE), Reservoir and Tele-diagnostics used across development, manufacturing, and aftersales.

  • Manage release cycles, validation strategy, defect resolution, and performance improvements

  • Security & Data Integrity: Lead & implement industry-standard cybersecurity practices to protect against hacking, unauthorized access, and other cyber threats.

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of dynamic IT engineers, analysts, and cloud specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

  • Vendor & Technology Partnerships: Work with technology partners and Collaborate with VCI suppliers to ensure firmware, passthrough communication, and protocol updates are aligned with product requirements - to integrate state of art technology & also manage the 24/7 run operation for the tool chain platform

  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Completely accountable for a stable operations of the platforms

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive all platforms and applications in the team’s responsibility to be a future ready and focus to build a user centric , technology ready & cost effective platform

  • Active and engaged member of the TT/IT initiatives & drive the global collaboration for organization success

  • Work closely with TT/S diagnostics cross function team, Manufacturing and Aftersales teams of NA and Aftersales team of MB trucks to collaborate on their strategies.

 

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related disciplines (Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or similar)

  • 15–18 years of industry experience

  • Experience utilizing Diagnostic Link Engineering (DLE), Reservoir and Tele-diagnostics

  • Strong experience in program and project management, including planning, execution, dependency management, risk mitigation, and delivery against schedule, cost, and quality targets.

  • Working knowledge of vehicle cybersecurity standards and secure diagnostics concepts, including awareness of ISO/SAE 21434 and secure access mechanisms for diagnostic data.

  • Solid understanding of vehicle E/E architectures, ECUs, and in‑vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and their impact on diagnostics system design.

  • Strong understanding of IT & Vehicle software development

  • In-depth understanding and previous use of C# and JAVA

  • Experience with IT DevOps & Vehicle software development lifecycle or SEDP

  • Expertise in building and managing IT DevOps Toolchain platform

  • Proven leadership ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Have a good knowledge of industry best practice & should be able to adopt in the organization

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
