Job Summary**

PTC Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and innovative PhD Student to join our INDUSTRIAL CHAIR Design 4 Sustainability program. This role involves conducting cutting-edge research to develop sustainable design methodologies and tools within an industrial context, contributing to both academic advancement and practical application in product lifecycle management.

Job Responsibilities**

* Conduct independent and collaborative research focused on sustainable design, circular economy principles, and environmental impact assessment within a product development framework.
* Develop, implement, and validate novel methodologies and software tools to integrate sustainability considerations early in the design process.
* Analyze complex industrial data to identify opportunities for sustainability improvements and quantify their impact.
* Collaborate closely with PTC researchers, engineers, and industry partners to translate research findings into practical solutions.
* Publish research results in top-tier academic journals and present at international conferences.
* Contribute to the supervision of master's and undergraduate students, if applicable.
* Participate in regular project meetings and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
* Prepare and submit a PhD thesis based on research outcomes.

Job Qualifications**

* Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Strong academic record with a demonstrable interest in sustainability, product design, and industrial applications.
* Proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD tools like Creo, SolidWorks) and an understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) concepts is highly desirable.
* Experience with data analysis, simulation tools, and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and contribute to team-based projects.
* A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research.
