Job Description
Amazon Web Services Japan is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced marketing manager to drive the adoption and usage of the AWS cloud with startups. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a fast-growing business, and to drive significant value for customers building lean, innovative new companies. As the Japan Startups Marketing Manager you will be responsible for working with the Startups business development and sales teams to drive the growth of AWS services across an audience of developers, founders and CEOs of startups, as well as the VC community. You will be responsible for defining and driving the marketing strategy and plans, on-point messaging, creating compelling content and building strategic, customer-focused marketing programs and campaigns. You will be responsible for the execution of campaigns targeting the startup community and will partner with APAC and US based colleagues to leverage global programs.
The right candidate has successful experience in marketing a passion for startups and an entrepreneurial spirit.
This is a 15-month full time contractor position.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with members of the AWS Startup business development, sales and marketing teams to align and develop marketing campaigns and programs
- Create and successfully drive awareness, adoption, and usage of AWS through Startup focused initiatives and programs, including webinars, digital marketing campaigns, lead generation programs, promotions, events.
- Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns with the aim of acquiring and retaining customers
- Manage the implementation, tracking, efficiency and measurement of marketing campaigns
- Brief and oversee the work of internal and external agencies
Collect and use data to inform new campaigns and the evaluation of existing campaigns
- Highly organized, data-driven and detail oriented. Skilled negotiator with proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less, and a track record of staying on budget.
- Interested in building programs and processes from the ground up and comfortable in ambiguous environments
- A strong team player – comfortable and motivated working in a collaborative environment

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technology-related sales, marketing or business development experiencePreferred Qualifications
