About the role:

The Senior Solution Architect – Banking & Payments (LATAM) is responsible for defining and leading end‑to‑end solution architecture for FIS banking and payment platforms across Latin America.
This role acts as a trusted technical and business advisor for clients, sales, pre‑sales, product, and delivery teams, ensuring solutions are architecturally sound, commercially viable, scalable, secure, and aligned with regional regulatory and market requirements.

What you will be doing:

Solution & Enterprise Architecture

• Define, maintain, and evolve end‑to‑end solution architecture for FIS Banking and Payments solutions (Core Banking, Payments Processing, Digital Banking, Integration Platforms).

• Translate business and functional requirements into high‑level solution designs, considering target architecture, platform capabilities, and client operating models.

• Ensure architectural consistency across multiple applications, integrations, and delivery streams.

Banking & Payments Expertise

• Apply deep knowledge of banking and payments domains, including:

• Core banking (retail & commercial).

• Payments processing (issuing, acquiring, instant payments, clearing & settlement).

• Support client modernization journeys, including legacy coexistence, modernization, and cloud‑enabled architectures, aligned to LATAM market realities.

Integration & Non‑Functional Design

• Design scalable and resilient architectures covering:

• Real‑time and batch integrations.

• APIs, messaging, middleware, and third‑party ecosystems.

• Define and validate non‑functional requirements (performance, availability, security, compliance, resiliency).

• Identify and manage technical dependencies, risks, and architectural trade‑offs.

Client, Sales & Pre‑Sales Engagement

• Partner closely with Sales and Pre‑Sales to support:

• RFPs, RFIs, solution proposals and executive presentations.

• Technical deep dives, workshops, and proof‑of‑concepts.

• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, aligning FIS solutions with their strategic, operational, and regulatory objectives.

Governance & Documentation

• Produce and maintain key architecture artifacts, including:

• Solution Architecture Documents (SAD).

• Architectural blueprints, standards, and design guidelines.

• Review and validate solution designs, requirements, and user stories to ensure adherence to defined architecture.

• Contribute to solution roadmaps and technology strategy aligned with FIS standards and product direction.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree- Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical pre‑sales, or enterprise systems design within banking and/or payments.

• Strong understanding of financial services operations and LATAM market dynamics.

• Proven experience designing complex, multi‑system, enterprise‑scale solutions.

• Role primarily focused on Latin America, supporting regional clients while aligning with global FIS architecture, standards, and product strategy.

• Core Banking and/or Payments platforms including Cards. Management Systems and acquiring platforms.

• API‑driven and service‑oriented architectures.

• Integration patterns and middleware technologies.

• Familiarity with Mainframes, cloud and hybrid architectures (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).

• The position requires proficiency in Portuguese, fluency in English, and advanced skills in Spanish.
