Job Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for all activities related to product sales, sales administration, stock and debtor management, cost control, and managing the profit and loss of key accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Achieve optimum turnover and profit according to the agreed budget and RBT (Result Before Tax) by ensuring the annual sales plan is met in line with established objectives and strategies.
Develop and maintain a marketing plan for relevant products by:
Identifying key customers and products
Assessing market size, nature, and trends
Monitoring competitors’ activities
Recommending objectives and strategies for suppliers and their products
Collaborate with suppliers and the Senior Section/Industry Manager to implement and monitor the marketing plan, providing progress updates regularly.
Conduct regular market surveys to monitor trends and identify new business opportunities. Work with Business Development to maximize sales and profit growth from these opportunities.
Ensure Key Accounts follow standard sales force management practices, including regular visits to existing and potential customers to build strong relationships and achieve sales targets. Maintain proper visit reports.
Monitor and control sales performance against budget, ensuring optimal inventory levels and debtor positions to minimize financial costs.
Ensure all sales staff prepare weekly plans, customer visit reports, and training updates (if applicable).
Lead, train, motivate, and develop the sales team to achieve agreed targets. Communicate incentive objectives regularly (if applicable).
Coordinate with suppliers and support functions to ensure smooth and timely product delivery to customers.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Science or related field; Master’s in Business Administration or Marketing preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in chemical sales and marketing within the Beauty & Care industry.
Others:
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience working in an international environment
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive
Goal-oriented
Proficient in PC operations
