Highlights:

Summary: The Speech Therapist shall be responsible to diagnose, evaluate, and treat individuals with communication problems such as speech, language fluency, and swallowing disorders. Additionally, the Therapist will develop and implement therapeutic speech and language development programs and services. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education / Experience: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required. License / Certification: Active Alabama (ABESPA) Speech-Language Pathology license required, ASHA CCC or CFY licensed required, BLS required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must also be skilled to provide general discipline specific therapy services to meet patient care requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
• Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.
• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
• Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 70% of the workday; walking/standing 30% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
Ability to travel between locations
